Gladiator Technologies Announces New LandMark10 MEMS AHRS


Ultra Low Power and Small Size Attitude and Heading Reference System Features Exceptional Performance with Angle Output and Barometric Pressure


January 22, 2008 – Gladiator Technologies announced today the production launch of the LandMark10 MEMS AHRS. This feature rich unit offers users an ultra low power and small size attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) with angle output as well as barometric pressure. The unit is designed to commercial aerospace standards with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) design tools and includes internal vibration isolation and meets typical aerospace requirements. There are many advanced user features including bandwidth filtering selection, data rate selection, an advanced heading calibration tool and many other advantages including:

Designed for commercial applications, the LandMark10 AHRS is ideal for applications requiring heading or angle output information combined with low power, small size and low cost.

Gladiator's production standards utilize lean manufacturing and six sigma techniques and employ fully automated temperature testing and calibration equipment throughout production. Gladiator is pursuing ISO9001/AS9100 certification which is expected this Spring.

Gladiator's CTO, Rand Hulsing, who has 66 patents in MEMS inertial technologies commented, "This AHRS is a sensor fusion-based system that includes a complement of triax gyros, accelerometers and magnetometers as well as a barometric pressure sensor. The fully compensated 3-axis magnetometer provides the heading at any pitch and roll orientation and the heading is internally corrected for self induced field distortions and temperature calibrated down to the noise level of the sensors. In addition, high bandwidth loops provide accurate heading, pitch and roll under dynamic vibration conditions typically to 0.5° accuracy. In addition, the system features a velocity error correction capability with either an analog input port, that is set up for a standard 0 to 5V differential 1.45 psi air pressure sensor, or via the digital input port, which is set up for a logic level pulse from a wheel counter with an input for wheel diameter. These inputs are included in the AHRS embedded software and can be accessed via Gladiator's proprietary software GLAMR program, which is available with the AHRS DEMO KIT."

The MEMS LandMark10 AHRS is in full production and small quantity orders are typically fulfilled off the shelf. The export commodity classification is U.S. Department of Commerce category ECCN7A994. An additional option available is the AHRS DEMO KIT which has all the cabling, display software (including features programming and data recording capabilities) which enables direct AHRS to PC connection from the AHRS's RS485 port to the PC's RS232 or USB interface. Also included is a self-contained battery powered power supply which offers up to 24 hours of use (utilizes 3ea standard AA batteries), self test switch and display software for the AHRS. Software drivers are also included to ease user integration of the AHRS into their systems.
