Designed for commercial stabilization and aircraft applications, the G50Z "LN Series" has a voltage output with the standard -1XX unit outputting +2.5V ± 2.2V and the -2XX model offering a differential “VSG “compatible signal outputting balanced 0V ± 5V. The signature features of the gyro are 50% lower noise than the standard G50Z, impressive bias over temperature performance, low power consumption, light weight, as well as excellent g-sensitivity and misalignment. The unit is highly durable and can withstand environmental vibration and shock typically associated with commercial aircraft, automotive and marine requirements. The unit has no inherent wear-out modes for long life and the rate output is also free from bias steps.
The MEMS G50Z "LN Series" gyro is currently offered in a ±100° standard rate range with other ranges available soon. The G50Z "LN Series" is designed for automotive testing, commercial aircraft applications, platform and antenna stabilization and pointing, general aviation and laboratory use. The G50Z-LN is ideal where low noise, excellent short-term bias stability, bias over temperature performance, low power consumption, low g-sensitivity, light weight and rugged durability are desired for commercial environments and applications.
Gladiator's production standards utilize lean manufacturing and six sigma techniques and employ fully automated temperature testing and calibration equipment throughout production. Gladiator's quality system is certified to ISO9001/AS9100.
Gladiator's CEO, Mark Chamberlain, stated, "Over the past two years we have introduced more than 15 new high performance MEMS inertial systems and sensors including high performance IMU's, AHRS, IMU/GPS, GPS/AHRS, accelerometers and gyros. Each new introduced model has surpassed the previous in inertial performance with lower noise and both better bias in-run and bias over temperature. We introduced the standard G50Z less than 18 months ago and today have announced the improved G50Z "LN Series", which has 50% lower noise than the standard version. We are absolutely committed to continue our significant investment levels in R&D as these efforts have enabled our team to rapidly innovate MEMS inertial technology and bring both new high performance inertial sensors and integrated systems to market. We are confident that the G50Z-LN will build upon the already solid foundation laid by the standard G50Z and will be a terrific growth enabler for both GTI and our customers around the world. The gyro's low noise will enable the G50Z to penetrate a host of new applications that require these low levels of noise and GTI's advanced engineering group is now working to incorporate this gyro into an even lower noise version of our highest performance systems, the LandMark™ 30. The 30 series already offers ARW gyro noise in the range of 0.01° - 0.15°/sec/√Hz and bias in-run of 10°/hour and with this new gyro the ARW gyro noise shall be reduced by another 50% and enable the LandMark™ 30 "LN Series" to also further penetrate many new high volume applications that have typically been fulfilled by higher cost Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) technology."
Gladiator's CTO, Rand Hulsing, who has more than 65 patents in MEMS
inertial technologies commented, "The development of the G50Z "LN Series" was derived utilizing our design tools, such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA),and other design technologies to optimize gyro noise and bias stability. It has employed a host of design advantages we have learned over our many years of experience and successfully incorporated in our predecessor sensors and systems. The G50Z "LN Series" low noise performance is now optimum to enable penetration of many demanding stabilization applications with challenging environmental requirements. Our R&D efforts are focused on pushing the performance limits of high performance MEMS inertial sensor technology, capturing synergies from new advancements in fabrication equipment and then rapidly introducing these technologies into new products including stand-alone inertial sensors and especially into our family of high performance MEMS inertial systems, including the new LandMark™ 30 product family."
