Gladiator Technologies' LandMark Inertial Systems Used in Testing of a Racing Ferrari GT3

LandMark Inertial Systems Providing Motion Monitoring for Private Ferrari GT3 Racing Team
August 15, 2008 – Gladiator Technologies' LandMark inertial systems are being used by a private team racing using a GT3 Ferrari. Several types of LandMark systems have been used in this motion monitoring application.

Gladiator's CEO, Mark Chamberlain, commented, "We are excited that our rugged and high performance MEMS LandMark inertial systems are being used in these demanding automotive racing applications. Being racing enthusiasts and seeing our products used in a private owner's racing Ferrari is especially thrilling and quite a complement to our products." Chamberlain further added, "Our talented partner in Italy, DSPM Industria, is exceptionally knowledgeable in application engineering our products to work with their many automotive and other racing clients. They are always a great pleasure to work with."

Located in Milan, DSPM Industria exclusively represents Gladiator products throughout Italy. GTI and DSPM work closely together on developing new inertial sensors and systems, especially for automotive testing and racing applications.

The LandMark10 product family is GTI's low cost entry level product family. It offers an analog MRM10 Motion Reference Module, and the digital products include: LandMark10 IMU, AHRS, IMU/GPS and GPS/AHRS.

The all new high performance MEMS LandMark20 product family is in the same form factor as the LandMark10 product family. This enables an easy migration and upgrade path for existing GTI customers. The LandMark20 offers low noise and exceptional bias performance.

Riccardo Romanelli, DSPM Vice-President, stated, "Gladiator's high performance inertial sensors and systems with their rugged durability, low power and proven performance are ideally suited for demanding automotive testing and racing applications. Their products combined with our strong application engineering expertise have proven to be a strong value-added combination for our customers. LandMark is providing us a significant amount of information for platform performance analysis including vehicle dynamics, pitch stability and cornering performance. Thanks to its integrated DGPS we are using it during aerodynamics testing as well as slip angle envelope. It is really a big jump forward with respect to the triaxial accelerometer and yaw rate sensor we've been using in the past."

Gladiator's production standards utilize lean manufacturing and six sigma techniques and employ fully automated temperature testing and calibration equipment throughout production. Gladiator recently achieved certification to AS9100 Rev. B and ISO9001:2000.
