POSITION DESCRIPTION
Electronics Test Technician
THE OPPORTUNITY:
Gladiator Technologies is a rapidly growing advanced technology designer and manufacturer of high performance MEMS inertial systems (including IMU’s, VG, and AHRS up to full INS/GPS) and sensors (gyros and accelerometers). These advanced technology products are used around the world in hundreds of applications including in aerospace & defense, motorsports racing, automotive testing, airborne, sea and land image stabilization and other markets.
DUTIES AND JOB OVERVIEW:
Perform test technician duties on electronic, electro-mechanical or mechanical subassemblies and end items with varying and often significant complexity in an advanced technology and ERP manufacturing environment. Some limited soldering and assembly also required in peak overflow conditions. Maintains test and quality records associated with production testing and assembly per AS9100C / ISO 9001:2008. Assist engineering with test and evaluation of developmental products and support production transition from engineering into manufacturing. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Perform both manual and automated tests on assemblies, end items and system level testing to ensure product quality and reliability in accordance with internal policies and regulatory and safety requirements
- Some environmental and calibration tests to be performed include: environmental conditioning, temperature calibration, sensor noise, bias and scale factor, functional, vibration, shock, power supply sensitivity, axis alignment, magnetometer calibration, centrifuge, etc. as well as visual inspection of various assemblies
- Maintains adherence to production, test and quality system procedures and processes with strong commitment to quality in everything we do
- Ability to interpret and work in accordance with work orders, drawings and schematics, functional and acceptance test procedures, repairs, failure reports, manuals and all other applicable engineering and production specifications
- Ability to follow and understand both technical and non-technical work instructions
- Strong computer and math skills required as well as basic knowledge of electronics
Eligibility Requirements:
- AA degree in Electronics Technology, or Mechanical Technology or equivalent knowledge through experience and/or other recognized educational institution
- Minimum 5 year test technician (test, manufacturing or repair technician) combined with assembly (soldering) experience
- Aerospace and Defense electronics experience strongly preferred (inertial product experience highly desired)
- Some limited experience in an ERP/MRP computerized environment desired
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) and Windows Operating System
- Must be willing to work cooperatively in a small team environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Contributes to documents and procedures for assembly, test and repair processes
- May also assist engineering in testing new development products
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
